China, temporary pilot: Cambodia announced a trial visa exemption for tourists with passports of the People’s Republic of China, from 15 June to 15 October 2026, for stays of up to 14 days. Check whether it has been extended before you travel.
“My country is on the official list, but not here”
The full government table also names countries such as China, India, Japan, South Korea and Russia, but for them the exemption covers only diplomatic and official passports. With a regular passport you still need a visa.
If you are not visa-exempt
Most travellers on a Moc Bai run, including citizens of the US, UK, EU countries, Australia, Canada, Russia, South Korea and Japan, need a Cambodian visa. You have two options: we arrange the official Cambodian e-visa before the trip (VND 1,100,000 per traveller), or you buy a visa on arrival at Bavet for USD 35. Bring clean, undamaged notes.
What this means for your visa run
- The Cambodian side and the Vietnamese side are separate checks. You also need a valid way back into Vietnam: an e-visa naming Moc Bai, or a Vietnam visa exemption for your nationality.
- Not keen on the long drive? Compare a fly-out visa run.
Not sure where you stand? Send us your nationality and we’ll check before you book. See the full Da Lat – Moc Bai route.
